Is KinderSurf free to use?
Browsing and searching daycares is completely free. Your first two waitlist positions per child are also free. A small fee applies for additional waitlists beyond that.
Why is the third waitlist onwards paid?
Your first two waitlists per child are completely free. From the third waitlist onwards, a small fee is required. This is intentional — it ensures that every family on a waitlist is genuinely interested in that daycare, so owners are not managing long lists of families who applied speculatively and have no real intention of enrolling. It keeps waitlists accurate and fair for everyone.
How do I know if a daycare is legitimate?
Daycares with a Verified badge have been reviewed by our team and confirmed to hold a valid provincial licence. We check licence numbers and contact information before approving any listing.
Can I join multiple waitlists?
Yes — you can join as many waitlists as you like across as many daycares as you choose. Each position is tracked separately on your dashboard.
What happens when a spot opens?
You will receive an email and in-app notification. The daycare will send you a formal offer through the platform. You then have a set window to accept or decline before the offer moves to the next family.
Can I book a tour before accepting a spot?
Yes. Daycares can enable tour scheduling and set which waitlist positions are eligible. You will be notified automatically when you become eligible to book a visit.
What if I have siblings on the same waitlist?
KinderSurf supports sibling linking. When siblings are connected in your profile, they automatically receive priority at daycares where another sibling is already enrolled.
Can I get a refund if I withdraw from a paid waitlist?
Fees paid to join a waitlist are generally non-refundable, as the fee serves to confirm genuine interest and hold your position. If exceptional circumstances apply — such as a family relocating or a medical situation — please contact our support team and we will review your case individually. We do not offer refunds after a spot offer has been received.
What provinces does KinderSurf cover?
KinderSurf is available across all 13 Canadian provinces and territories. New daycares are added regularly as the platform grows.
